Bulacan police vow justice for slain businessman

Bulacan Police Officer-in-Charge Col. Franklin Estoro has ordered Sta. Maria Police Chief Lt. Col. Voltaire Rivera to dig deeper into the killing of a businessman who was robbed and shot dead by two motorcycle-riding suspects at a burger establishment in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Sunday, June 22.

In his statement, Col. Estoro assured that the Bulacan police will continue to conduct follow-up investigations and coordinate with other units for the immediate arrest of the culprits.
He expressed a firm commitment to exhaust all means necessary to identify and apprehend the offenders and to keep Bulacan a safe and peaceful province.
During his visit to the wake of the victim, Crisaldo Mendoza, in Barangay Tabing Bakod on Tuesday, June 24, Estoro told the family that he had already directed his police force to conduct a thorough investigation, identify the suspects, and bring them to justice.
Estoro and Rivera extended their heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family and assured them of their continued support during this difficult time.
The victim’s family also branded as fake news the reports circulating on social media that the Sta. Maria police responded late.
They expressed sincere gratitude to the Sta. Maria police for their quick and immediate response, including the prompt transport of the victim to the hospital.
It was earlier reported that Mendoza was at the burger joint when two motorcycle back riders dismounted, approached him, and attempted to forcibly take his bag.
Mendoza resisted and fought back, prompting one of the suspects to shoot him.
After the shooting, the suspects took the victim’s Yamaha NMAX motorcycle and fled.
Police rushed Mendoza to the nearest hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
