LACSON
BACOLOD CITY -- Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson reported that none of the 121 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from the province currently based in Israel have expressed a desire to return home due to ongoing tensions in the region.
“So far, none of them have signified an intention to come back,” Lacson stated.
Thirty-one are from this highly-urbanized city.
To assist those who may wish to return, the governor said the OFW Help Desk at the Provincial Capitol here remains open.
Lacson said that the national government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to receive Filipinos should they decide to repatriate.
The Help Desk and the Migrant Resource Center in the province are also keeping an eye on the situation in Jordan due to its geographical proximity.
