A low pressure area (LPA) currently inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, June 24.
In its 2 p.m. weather update, PAGASA said the LPA being monitored inside the PAR now has a “high” chance of intensifying into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

As of 3 p.m., the LPA was estimated, based on all available data, to be located 445 km west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
PAGASA also noted that the southwest monsoon or “habagat” continues to affect the western section of Southern Luzon.
The southwest monsoon may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bataan, Zambales, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro, according to PAGASA.
Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the rest of the country.
PAGASA warned that flash floods or landslides are possible in affected areas due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
