- Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said the PNP Services app is like a one-stop mobile app where people could seek assistance, including the Dial 911 service, and avail of other services of various police units.
Don’t look for cops in the police station, they’re on your phone, Gen. Nicolas Torre III advised the public when he assumed the top Philippine National Police (PNP) police early this month.
Indeed, because aside from the emergency 911 hotline, the police’s Communications and Electronics Services (CES) also made sure that police visibility is in everyone’s smart phones through the PNP Services app.
PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said the PNP Services app is like a one-stop mobile app where people could seek assistance and avail of the services of various police units.
“You’ll be able to see the official websites, the social media accounts of our PNP units. The 911 was also incorporated there, including how to use the 911 mechanism. And even the ‘e-sumbong’ is there. So any app of our frontline services of the PNP is there,” said Fajardo.
“So we want to announce to our kababayan of the single PNP services that they could access if they need any assistance or help from the PNP,” she added.
The app, however, appears to be only available for Android users.
At the Google Play Store, the PNP SERVICES advertises to be an app that offers access to various police services and has 4.6 ratings so far.
Fajardo said the PNP intends to incorporate the app to the eGov app of the national government.
