ACMobility has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging network to Ilocos Norte, marking its northernmost installation to date. Located at the Agua Grande Mini Hydro Power Plant in Barangay Panziann, Pagudpud, the newly launched station aims to address range anxiety for EV users traveling in and around the far north of Luzon.
This development is part of ACMobility's broader effort to establish the Philippine EV Spine, a nationwide charging infrastructure connecting Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. With this latest station, the company adds a critical node to its growing network, which currently consists of 96 locations and 226 charge points nationwide. Another 10 sites are set to become operational this June. ACMobility targets over 700 charge points before the end of the year.
The Pagudpud station, a direct current (DC) fast-charging facility, is equipped with two charge points and operates daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It is designed to serve both residents and long-distance travelers heading to or from the northernmost tip of Luzon. The station is the product of a joint effort between ACMobility and local power distribution utility, Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative Inc. (INEC), with energy supply provided by Masinloc Power Partners Co. Ltd. and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co.
According to Carla Buencamino, ACMobility's head of mobility infrastructure, ACMobility has always believed in the power of partnerships. Working with INEC on this endeavor allows us to provide convenient and sustainable mobility solutions to more Filipinos. As this new station opens doors for many communities in the far north, it brings the country one step closer to a more connected and electrified future.
The strategic location of the Pagudpud site underscores ACMobility's aim to make EV charging accessible even in geographically remote areas, supporting both tourism and local economies. It also aligns with the company's goal of creating a seamless EV ownership experience by reducing concerns over limited charging options in distant provinces.
ACMobility is a member of the Ayala Group and operates several major automotive brands in the Philippines, including Honda, Isuzu, Kia, Volkswagen, and BYD. It also manages the Bosch Car Service network, providing comprehensive automotive maintenance and repair services. Since 2023, the company has prioritized EV infrastructure as part of its sustainability agenda.
Supporting this expansion is Evro, a digital solutions provider and Ayala Group partner. Through its app, Evro enables EV users to locate charging stations, check availability, and manage sessions in real-time. The platform is compatible with multiple charge point operators across the country and is available on both the App Store and Google Play.
