The embassy said the 31 Filipinos, who evacuated from Israel, Jordan, Palestine, and Qatar, have left Doha for Manila on Tuesday morning.
“The group’s flight to Manila was initially grounded due to the closure of Qatari airspace amid external attacks, but departed early morning of 24 June 2025 once flights resumed,” the embassy said.
According to the Philippine embassy, the 31 repatriates — consisting of Filipinos who evacuated from Israel to Jordan, as well as others from Jordan, Palestine, and Qatar — were escorted by Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac and DMW Assistant Secretary Venecio Legaspi.
Ambassador Mardomel Celo Melicor said that they provided assistance to Filipino nationals who were transiting through the Hamad International Airport in Doha following their repatriation on June 23.
“Through its diplomatic missions in the region, the Philippines continues to track the well-being of its nationals, extending crucial aid particularly to those imperiled by ongoing conflicts,” the embassy said.
Earlier, the Philippine Embassy in Qatar advised all Filipino nationals in Qatar “to shelter in place until further notice.”
“All Filipinos are urged to continue monitoring the news and heed the advisories issued by local authorities and the Embassy,” the embassy said.
It also reported that based on the statements from authorities in Qatar, there were no casualties or injuries after Iran launched missile attacks on a United States military base in Qatar.
