Sun Life of Canada Inc.’s local unit has appointed Jonathan Juan Moreno as the life insurance company’s new president.
Sun Life Philippines said in its statement released on Monday, June 23, that this change in leadership reinforces the insurer’s commitment to strengthening its position as the top life insurance company in the country.
Moreno’s latest stint was assuming the leadership role as the president and CEO of AF Payments Inc., the financial technology (FinTech) company behind beep cards. Sun Life Philippines noted that Moreno has consistently shown a leadership style that is “results-driven, values-centered, and client-focused.”
Benedict Sison, CEO and country head of Sun Life Philippines, said Moreno’s “proven track record of achieving results with integrity, combined with his transformational leadership, will be instrumental as we continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of our clients and advisors.”
Sun Life Philippines expects Moreno’s leadership “to bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the organization” as the life insurer continues to expand. It added that Moreno’s appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to help clients attain a sustained financial security.
Moreno has more than two decades of leadership experience in different industries as a seasoned business executive.
Moreno is also a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA). Sun Life Philippines noted that the newly appointed president has been known for his ability to “drive strategy execution and lead organizational transformation.”
For his part, Moreno expressed excitement to take on his newest executive role with Sun Life Philippines.
Moreno said the Sun Life Philippines is accelerating the company’s “transformation to be a future-ready and client-centric leader in the industry,” adding that the firm is “ready to lead the way.”
