Peñones assumes post as PRO-3 chief
Vows swift response, reforms
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. assumed the top post of Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) in a ceremonial turnover of command here Monday, replacing Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo.

In his inaugural address, Peñones laid down his leadership thrust, emphasizing swift response, accountability, and unity within the police force.
“We must remain on our toes 24/7. Our goal is a five-minute response time, available at all times. All commanders must be accessible, anytime, anywhere. We strive to serve and protect with urgency because public service does not wait,” he said during the turnover presided over by Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., deputy Philippine National Police (PNP) chief for administration.
Fajardo was appointed new head of the Directorate for Comptrollership effective June 20.
Highlighting the importance of trust and teamwork, Peñones urged all personnel to foster solidarity and mutual support within the ranks.
“We must build a strong police force based on trust and camaraderie. We need each other. We must act as one, move as one, and protect each other with the same dedication we show the people we serve,” he said.
Peñones stressed the need for prudent management of public resources. On modernizing police service, he advocated for innovation and integrity.
He also reminded police officers that he expects nothing less than your full commitment.”
“Let’s start the day right, and every day hereafter – with purpose, urgency, and unwavering service,” he said.
Peñones previously served as provincial director of the Zambales Police Provincial Office. (PNA)
