Over P1.6-M high-grade marijuana seized in Pasig drug sting, 1 arrested

Operatives of the Eastern Police District (EPD) recovered more than P1.6 million worth of high-grade marijuana or kush during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City early Sunday morning, June 22.
According to the police, the operation was led by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pasig City Police Station in coordination with the Pasig City Anti-Drug Abuse Office.
A high-value individual wanted for illegal drugs identified as alias Buknoy, a resident of Pateros, was also arrested during the operation.

Cases for violation of Sec. 5 (Selling of Dangerous Drugs) and Sec. 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Art II of RA 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed against Buknoy before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
He is currently detained at the police custodial facility.
“This successful operation is a result of our operatives’ vigilance, intelligence work, and commitment to duty. The arrest of a high-value target and the confiscation of more than P1.6 million worth of marijuana is a major step forward in our ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. I commend our team for their exceptional work and dedication to safeguarding the welfare of our communities,” Lagradante said.
“Let this serve as a strong warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade, we will not tolerate your activities. We are intensifying our operations and will pursue every lead to ensure that those who choose to threaten the safety and well-being of our communities are brought to justice. You can run, but you cannot hide,” he added.
