GCash insurance serves over 14 million Filipinos since 2021
The country’s leading e-wallet GCash has empowered micro-finance for over 14 million users through its insurance arm, GInsure, since its launch in 2021.
GInsure, which provides affordable coverage conveniently on GCash, has already provided over 51.4 million policies to its millions of clients.
“We are humbled to be able to come to the aid of users who are looking for a more affordable and accessible way to protect themselves and their loved ones today and in the future,” said GCash vice president and head of new business Winsley Bangit in a statement.
GCash said its insurance unit has been a trusted insurance partner for Filipinos who are preparing for a better future with a focus on affordability.
Micro-financing, which primarily targets low-income individuals, provides a practical way to extend financial protection to those who have traditionally been uninsured or under-insured.
“By offering affordable and straightforward coverage through a digital platform, GCash empowers more customers to safeguard themselves from unexpected challenges without added hassle or expense,” said Bangit.
Under GInsure, users can choose from more than 48 insurance products tailored to their lifestyle needs, including coverage for health, life, and travel.
When transacting online, users can also enhance their protection through Express Send Scam Insurance, which provides personal cyber protection from common types of scams for only ₱30, covering 30 days.
Recently, GInsure launched Buy Load Plus Health Insurance, which grants customers free health and accident insurance if they purchase mobile load credits through GCash.
Under the new service, eligible users can get up to ₱30,000 in free accident and health insurance benefits.
If they are unable to work, users can also get hospital income coverage of ₱500 per day for up to five days.
GCash said these benefits come at no additional cost or obligation.
