Drug suspect nabbed in shabu bust in Taguig

A newly identified drug suspect was arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on June 20.

Operatives from the Taguig police conducted the operation in Barangay Western Bicutan at about 11:25 p.m.

The police arrested the suspect identified as alias John Paul, 25, male, who was tagged as a street-level individual (SLI). They also seized shabu weighing 27 grams valued at P183,600.

During the operation, a poseur buyer successfully bought a sachet of shabu from the suspect and a body search yielded another sachet.

The police also confiscated a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money and a cigarette box, which was used as the container for the illegal drugs.

The illegal drugs will be turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

John Paul will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
