Autopsy to be conducted to determine cause of death of DLSU-BGC law student

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death of Anthony Granada, 25, a law student of the De La Salle University (DLSU) Bonifacio Global City campus in Taguig, who was found dead in Naic, Cavite on June 21.
Granada went missing on June 8 and was reported to the Taguig police on June 15. His body was found in an advanced stage of decomposition in a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa, Naic.
The Naic police said his remains were brought to the Imperial Funeral Homes in Barangay San Agustin, Trece Martires in Cavite for autopsy and DNA testing.
An investigation is being conducted by the Forensic Unit of Cavite Province and an investigator to determine the cause of death. Granada’s personal belongings were turned over to his family.

Investigators found a plastic bottle labeled Drain Clog Free, a chemical substance used to dissolve grease. Granada’s personal belongings, including his cell phone and things inside his backpack, were found intact.
His body was discovered on the fourth day of search operations and CCTV footage review made by the Regional Intelligence Division 4-A, Regional Special Operations Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 4-A-Provincial Intelligence Team Cavite, Regional Intelligence Team Cavite, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Cavite Police Provincial Office, Naic Municipal Police Station Intelligence Operatives, barangay officials, and Granada’s family.
His body was identified by his father based on clothing and personal belongings found in the vacant lot.
Based on police investigation, Granada booked a Grab taxi on June 8 from C5 Road in Taguig to the Naic town plaza in Cavite.
Granada was last seen in CCTV footage at 9:23 p.m. on June 8 walking along Lopez Jaena Bridge in Naic.
His brother, Ricky, announced his passing on June 21.
“We just want to update everyone that my dearest brother Anthony Granada has been found, but unfortunately he is with our Creator now,” he posted on Facebook.
He added, “On behalf of my family, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to each and everyone for all your support and prayers during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a great comfort to our family. As we navigate this period, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our family's need for privacy to grieve in the moment. Thank you very much and God bless us all.”
