3 security escorts nabbed for threat, illegal firearms in Makati

Three men acting as civilian security escorts were arrested by the police for illegally trying to enter a house in Barangay La Paz, Makati City on June 20.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as alias Lucrecio, 38, Frank, 38, and Jeo, 27.
SPD director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo said the arrest was made after the police received a complaint from a 41-year-old male resident who saw the three suspicious individuals loitering and attempting to enter his house along Balagtas Street.
The police immediately responded to the scene where the victim positively identified the three suspects in a nearby eatery.
Upon seeing the policemen, the suspects voluntarily surrendered their firearms and identified themselves as civilian security escorts.

Arresting Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU) officers seized three .45 caliber pistols with live ammunition from the suspects as well as various gun accessories.
Further verification revealed that only one of the suspects had a valid License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR).
All three were arrested for violations of Article 283 of the Revised Penal Code (Light Threats) and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
“The rapid deployment and immediate action of our Makati CPS personnel is a testament to our commitment to swift and responsive public service. Under the leadership of our Chief PNP, we continue to elevate our standards and ensure the safety of every community,” Arceo said.
