Woman arrested for sextortion in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Police arrested a 39-year-old woman here on Saturday afternoon, June 21, for allegedly blackmailing and extorting from a man using explicit photos and videos.
The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 2 identified the suspect as Yana.

Yana is facing charges for violating Article 294 (Robbery with Intimidation against Persons) of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009) in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
Police Brig. Gen. Bernard R. Yang, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group chief, commended the RACU-2 for the successful operation.
We will not tolerate those who exploit others through fear and intimidation. The PNP ACG is committed to holding offenders accountable and bringing them to justice. We urge the public to remain alert and report any form of online exploitation immediately, he said.
