The Philippine Army (PA) conducted a night flying air medical evacuation familiarization exercise with the United States Army over the weekend.
Personnel from the Air Medical Helicopter Platoon of the PA’s Aviation Regiment used an HH-60 Black Hawk helicopter during the training held last Friday, June 19.
“The activity focused on enhancing the Philippine Army flight crews' readiness and operational capabilities, including pilots, flight medics, and nurses. It aimed to sharpen their situational awareness and proficiency in conducting in-flight medical missions under low-visibility conditions,” the Aviation Regiment said on Sunday, June 22.
Further, the regiment said that the exercise underscored the shared commitment of the Philippine and US forces in improving their interoperability.
It said having the capability to work well with their US counterparts would help in saving lives during emergencies by ensuring the rapid and efficient transport of casualties to higher levels of medical care.
“The activity is part of the Aviation Regiment’s ongoing efforts to professionalize its capabilities and strengthen its combat service support to ground units,” the Aviation Regiment said.
