P10M worth of stolen electronic devices in QC found in Imus, Cavite
Authorities recovered P10 million worth of high-end security cameras and other tech products that were sent from Quezon City using a delivery service application.
According to the report, the delivery is bound to Makati City.
The Quezon City Police District Anti-Cybercrime team, discovered boxes containing the stolen items in a house in Imus, Cavite.
Similar items were also discovered by the authorities in another house in Kawit, Cavite.
“Around one hour na nakita ng victim na parang hindi na gumagalaw 'yung icon, tinawagan nila 'yung delivery vehicle, ang sabi lang initially ay may binaba din na ibang gamit at may nagbook din, may sinabay. But lumipas na 'yung dalawang oras, hindi pa rin nakarating doon sa Makati (Around one hour after the victim saw that the icon seemed to be no longer moving, they called the delivery vehicle, initially they said that other items had also been dropped off and someone had also booked, someone else was on the way. But two hours have passed, it still hasn't arrived in Makati),” Police Lieutenant Colonel Crisostomo Ubac said.
The products sent from Quezon City were not delivered and the victim later received messages from the suspects demanding money in exchange of the goods.
The suspects will face charges for Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act, robbery extortion, and theft under Cybercrime Prevention Act.
