Missing DLSU-BGC student found dead in Cavite: 'He is with our Creator now'

A missing law student at De La Salle University-Bonifacio Global City campus in Taguig was found dead in Cavite on June 21.
Anthony Granada, 25, had been missing since June 8 and was last seen at Ridgewood Premier Condominium, Taguig.
Granada’s brother, Ricky, announced the passing of his brother.
“We just want to update everyone that my dearest brother Anthony Granada has been found, but unfortunately he is with our Creator now,” Ricky Granada posted on Facebook on June 21.
He added, “On behalf of my family, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to each and everyone for all your support and prayers during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a great comfort to our family. As we navigate this period, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our family's need for privacy to grieve in the moment. Thank you very much and God bless us all.”
Anthony Granada’s body was found by the police in a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa, Naic, Cavite.
On June 15, Ricky Granada posted on Facebook that “our brother and a friend to many, Anthony B. Granada, is missing. He is a law student at DLSU BGC and usually stays within Taguig area.”
“It's been a week since we last saw Anthony (25, Male). He was last seen at Ridgewood Premier Condominium, Taguig (along C-5 Road Northbound) on Sunday, June 8, 2025, around 6:30 PM. He's about 165cm (5'5) and weighs 60kg (132 lbs). He was wearing a white sweater, blue jogging pants with two yellow stripes, and white Crocs slippers,” he said.
He added, “Our family is incredibly worried. Every share and every bit of info helps us bring him home. Thank you very much.”
The police said his body was discovered at 1:20 p.m. on June 21 in an advanced state of decomposition in a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa, Naic, Cavite.
Authorities found a plastic bottle with the label “Drain Clog Free,” a chemical used to dissolve grease, beside the body. Anthony Granada’s body was identified by his father.
Based on police investigation, Anthony Granada booked a Grab taxi bound for Naic town plaza in Cavite and was picked up at 6:40 p.m. on June 8 on C-5 Road, Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig. His drop-off in Cavite was recorded at 8:16 p.m.
The Grab driver told the police that Granada rode alone, carrying a small backpack and was quiet during the ride.
Upon his arrival at Naic town plaza, Granada alighted from the vehicle and walked towards a residential area. The driver observed no suspicious persons, vehicles or interactions by Granada after the drop-off.
Granada was last seen in CCTV footage at 9:23 p.m. on June 8 walking along Lopez Jaena Bridge.
On June 18 and 19, a search operation was conducted in Barangay Sapa by the Taguig police’s Station Intelligence Section, in coordination with the Naic police, barangay officials and residents.
