ILOILO CITY – New Police Regional Office-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Josefino D. Ligan has ordered his men to prioritize the five-minute response policy.

“Our aim is to deliver police response in under five minutes, no matter where or when,” said Ligan after his installation over the weekend.
Ligan reiterated swift and responsive public service as outlined in a policy by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
“We will redefine readiness: In every aspect and area, from urban centers to island barangays, every patrol team will be equipped with clear protocols, agile mobility, and the authority to make critical decisions in the field,” Ligan said.
First to start was Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) which serves the regional center of Western Visayas.
“There will be strategic deployment of (police) personnel, especially in city centers,” Ligan told the Iloilo Police and Defense Press Corps.
Before his assignment in Western Visayas region, Ligan served as district director of the Northern Police District under the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO).
Ligan assured policing in rural areas would also be given attention. He ordered an inventory of personnel and assessment of deployment in key areas of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces.
Ligan assured he will continue the other key priorities of his predecessor, Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky.
