The Land Transportation Office (LTO) summoned the registered owner and the driver of an e-trike in a viral video of its passenger dancing with pants down while the vehicle was travelling in a busy road in Antipolo City on Thursday, June 19.
LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said they already issued a show cause order (SCO) against the Antipolo City resident owner of the e-trike, with an advice that the vehicle was already placed under alarm until the investigation is done.
“We also mandated the driver at the time of the incident to surrender the driver’s license before the scheduled hearing on June 25,” said Mendoza.
The LTO investigation stemmed from a video that went viral after a male passenger of an e-trike was seen dancing with pants down while the vehicle was speeding on the road, especially near a public market.
The local police already tracked down those involved and it turned out the dancing passenger is a minor.
In the SCO, the owner and the driver were asked to explain why they should not be sanctioned over the incident.
The driver is facing driver’s license revocation for reckless driving and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. The owner, on the other hand, is also facing a penalty for employing a reckless driver.
