The Diocese of Antipolo has issued a prayer for peace in the Middle East for the members of the parishes in the diocese to reflect on amidst the ongoing tension in that part of the world.
The Diocesan Shrine of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, in Cardona, Rizal, enjoined the parishioners to reflect on the prayer issued by Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos that calls for unity in praying for the peaceful resolution of the Iran-Israel conflict, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, locally known as the “Birhen ng Sapao” (Virgin of Sapao).
Prayer for Peace in the Middle East
“Heavenly Father, You are the God of peace, the source of love and mercy. We come before You with heavy hearts, grieving for the suffering in the Middle East. Lord, we pray for Iran and Israel, for their leaders, their people, and all who are caught in the crossfire of conflict. May Your wisdom guide those in power to choose dialogue over destruction, reconciliation over retaliation.
“We lift up the innocent- the children, the families, the displaced- who long for safety and security. Comfort them, O Lord, and be their refuge in times of fear. Let Your light shine upon the darkness of war. And may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, reign in every heart.
“Unite us, Lord, as instruments of Your love, that we may work tirelessly for justice, and never cease to pray for the healing of nations. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen,” the prayer of Bishop Santos red.
Fr. Reynante Tolentino, rector of Cardona's Marian shrine, also posted the prayer of the Antipolo bishop in his social media page.
