San Beda has tapped Kungfu Reyes as head coach of its women’s volleyball team, the school announced on Saturday, June 21.
The development came two weeks after Reyes parted ways with the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses where veteran mentor Shaq Delos Santos filled in his shoes.
Even with the new role, Reyes would still remain as program director of UST women’s volleyball.
Reyes, 44, succeeded Edgar Barroga and interim coach Joshua Noda to guide the Lady Red Spikers.
“Welcome to the Lion’s Den, Coach Kungfu!” the school wrote on a social media post.
Prior to Reyes’ arrival, Noda called in the shots for the Lady Red Spikers during the NCAA Season 100 where the team finished wit a 4-14 win-loss record for eighth place.
Reyes also became the fifth coach in five seasons to handle the Lady Red Spikers.
With UST, Reyes guided the Tigresses to two finals appearances and five Final Four stints in the UAAP.
