The city government of Paranaque announced that the Ospital ng Paranaque (OsPar)-2 will hold a free bone density test on June 24 in observance of Scoliosis Awareness Month.
Paranaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the free bone density test aims to promote early detection and bone health awareness, especially important for those at risk of scoliosis and other musculoskeletal conditions.
The program will be held at the OsPar-2 outpatient department (OPD) from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon for the first 100 city residents and employees.
The mayor explained that the bone density test is conducted to a person with signs of having uneven shoulders, one hip higher than the other, or a rib hump when bending forward, which are all common signs of an individual suffering from scoliosis.
Olivarez said early detection and regular checkups are very important, especially for adolescents.
