Palace declares special holidays in several localities this July

Malacañang has declared multiple special nonworking days in June and July in various parts of the country through a series of proclamations signed to honor local festivals, anniversaries, and historic figures.

Based on the signed proclamations, the local holidays were declared to allow residents to meaningfully engage in the cultural and historical events significant to their communities.
Through Proclamation Nos. 931 and 932, special nonworking days were declared in Sabangan, Mountain Province, and Calanasan, Apayao, for their 62nd founding anniversaries on Wednesday, June 25.
Five special nonworking days were declared on Tuesday, July 1:
  • 63rd founding anniversary of Pangantucan, Bukidnon (Proclamation No 933)
  • 69th founding anniversary of Maramag, Bukidnon (Proclamation No 934)
  • 65th charter anniversary of San Carlos, Negros Occidental (Proclamation No 935)
  • 69th founding anniversary of Kibawe, Bukidnon (Proclamation No 936)
  • 112th founding anniversary of Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte (Proclamation No 943)
Under Proclamation No. 937, a special nonworking day was declared on Tuesday, July 15, in Mauban, Quezon, to celebrate the Araw ng Mauban. Proclamation No. 939 also declared July 15 a special nonworking day in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) for its 38th founding anniversary.
Digos, Davao del Sur, will also observe a holiday on Friday, July 18, under Proclamation No. 938 for the Padigosan Festival, instead of July 19.
Proclamation Nos. 940 and 941 set Monday, July 21, as a special nonworking day in Maria Aurora, Aurora, for its 76th founding anniversary; and in Mabalacat, Pampanga, for its 13th cityhood anniversary.
Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 942 declared Friday, July 25, a special nonworking holiday in Tanjay, Negros Oriental, for the Sinulog sa Tanjay Festival.
Special nonworking days are typically declared to enable citizens to commemorate important local events, celebrate cultural traditions, or remember significant historical figures.
