“Parang alanganin pang ika’y patawarin pa / Alang-alang na rin para sa’ting dalawa . . .”
These words echoed at the end of Episode 3 of Si Sol at Si Luna, just as Sol (played by Zaijian Jaranilla) finally laid eyes on Luna (played by Jane Oineza) again. After an entire episode spent searching, hoping, and waiting for the bus that Luna routinely took, this moment raises questions. Will it lead to clarity, or will Sol's feelings remain unexpressed?
Puregold’s hit series Si Sol at si Luna returns on Saturday with a powerful emotional twist, made more poignant by SunKissed Lola’s 'HKP'—a beautiful song that captures the pain of holding on when love is uncertain.
Filipino rock band Sunkissed Lola is known for their feel-good songs with heartfelt lyrics. The band consists of Dan Ombao (lead vocals, guitar), Alvin Serito (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Laura Lacbain (lead vocals), Danj Quimson (bass guitar), and Genson Villoria (drums). Together, they have produced popular songs about life and love, including crowd favorites like Pasilyo and Makalimutan Ka.

HKP’s heartfelt lyrics, “Hanggang salita lang / Mahirap bang umasa sa wala?” reflect Luna’s struggles as she continues to mourn the loss of Andy, the love of her life. While friends like Manang Boneng (Marnie Lapus) and colleagues like Ben (Joao Constancia) provide constant emotional support, Luna flounders in a world that has shifted under her feet.
“Music plays a significant role in bringing the emotional core of Si Sol at si Luna to life,” Ms. Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Senior Marketing Manager of Puregold, says. “We’re happy that a deeply sentimental song like SunKissed Lola’s HKP resonates so naturally with the story. It mirrors Luna’s raw emotions of grief and Sol’s intense longing, all the while asking: “Huwag kang paasa / Walang pag-asa / ‘Di na aasa?”
Sol's quiet determination to find Luna has him waiting at their familiar bus stop day after day. Finally, his patience is rewarded with a fleeting moment of recognition—there she is. However, in true fashion characteristic of Sol and Luna, viewers will have to watch the next episode to find out if they will finally reconnect.
Is time on their side? Will Sol find the right words? And will Luna ‘hear’ him out?
