According to the police, they received a report at around 5:01 a.m. about a woman in labor on a sidewalk in Barangay Balingasa.
Four police officers immediately responded and helped the woman give birth as they waited for the arrival of emergency medical services.
The mother and her newborn were safely transported to a nearby hospital for proper medical care.
Police later confirmed that both the mother and child are now in stable condition.
QCPD director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio praised the quick action of the police.
I commend PS1 for their quick response. This is another example of the heroism of our police officers—public servants ready to help not just in crime-related situations but also in unexpected emergencies like this),” Silvio said.
He added that the QCPD remains committed to providing prompt and compassionate service to the residents of the city.
