Robles said Alfredo and the two suspects – Antonio, 36, of La Castellana, Negros Occidental, and his younger brother Leo, 31, of Barangay Odiong, Moises Padilla – were attending a neighbor’s wake when a heated argument erupted among them.
The suspects went home but they were attacked by Alfredo with a knife. The siblings fought back and allegedly stabbed Alfredo in the left armpit.
Barangay kagawad Arnel, 46, intervened to pacify the commotion, but was stabbed in the back.
Robles said the suspects sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital with Alfredo where he was declared dead. The suspects are under hospital arrest.
Arnel is in critical condition and recuperating in a private hospital here.
Robles said that there was no history of misunderstanding between Alfredo and the suspects.
He said the incident could be due to drunkenness.
Appropriate charges are being readied against the suspects.
