ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Josefino D. Ligan is the new police chief of Western Visayas region after the Philippine National Police amended the order that named Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. as Police Regional Office-6 chief on Thursday, June 19.
LIGAN
Peñones was assigned to the PRO-1 (Ilocos) which Ligan was supposed to head.
Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, said on Friday, June 20, that the order was “amended” but did not disclose the reason why.
Ligan replaced Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, who was named as new Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) chief.
Ligan was the district director of the Northern Police District under the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) prior to his assignment to Western Visayas. The NPD covers the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela.
