Global celebs battle for Outstanding Asian Star at Seoul International Drama Awards

The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee headed by Chairman Bang Moon-shin and TNK Factory announced that a global voting will be conducted for the 2025 Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA).
Fans can vote for the Outstanding Asian Star in South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, Thailand, Philippines, and Outstanding Korean Drama OST.
They can vote using the IdolChamp app for the SDA 2025 from June 21 to July 20. IdolChamp is a voting app with users from 234 countries and regions, and the winners of the year are determined by their votes.
Outstanding Asian Star
The Outstanding Asian Star spotlights popular actors from Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, Thailand, and Philippines who have shown outstanding performances over the past year.
In South Korea, the awards are divided into male and female categories, and featured actors and actresses who have performed outstandingly in Korean dramas.
Among them are:
• IU, Park Bo-gum and Lee Jun-young from “When Life Gives You Tangerines”
• Lim Ji-yeon and Choo Young-woo from “The Tale of Lady Ok”
• Lee Hyeri from “Friendly Rivalry”
• Jisoo from “Newtopia”
• Park Eun-bin from “Hyper Knife”
• Park Shin-hye from “The Judge From Hell”
• Han Ji-min and Lee Jun-hyuk from “Love Scout”
• Kim Seon-ho from “The Tyrant”
• Seo Kang-jun from “Undercover High School”
Candidates from other Asian countries are also drawing attention.
They are:
• Kentaro Sakaguchi from Japan, a popular actor who starred in “Beyond Goodbye”
• Yu Bai from China, who gained fame for his impressive bromance in the drama “Guardian”
• Daniel Padilla from the Philippines who starred in Incognito
• Aenie Wong from Malaysia
• Phuwin Tangsakyuen from Thailand who starred in the BL series “Fish Upon the Sky”
Outstanding Korean Drama OST
For Outstanding Korean Drama OST, the title songs of K-dramas will be voted by fans. Popular artists have recorded OSTs for different K-dramas. Among them are:
• Doyoung of NCT (OST for “Namib”)
• Winter of Aespa (OST for “The Tale of Lady Ok”)
• TXT (OST for “Brewing Love“)
• IU (OST for “When Life Gives You Tangerines“)
• Plave (OST for “Dear Hyeri“)
• Young Tak (OST for “For Eagle Brothers“)
• Lucy (OST for “Undercover High School“, “Parole Examiner Lee“, “Seoul Busters“)
The full list will be opened on the IdolChamp app on June 21.
During the voting period, events will be held for voters. The participants in the events will randomly get tickets for the SDA ceremony on Oct. 2 in South Korea and IdolChamp Chamsim rewards which can be used for voting.
