AUMENTADO
CEBU CITY – Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado was awarded with the Maharlika Award, an accolade given to officials for exceptional leadership in local governance and finance.
Named as an Outstanding Public Servant, Aumentado received the award during the Bureau of Local Government Finance-Central Visayas' (BLGF-7) Pasidungog sa Siete on Thursday, June 19, at Mezzo Hotel here.
I dedicate this award to all the people of Bohol, Aumentado said.
The BLGF-7 also handed out a separate award to the provincial government of Bohol, recognizing the performances of the Provincial Treasurer's Office (PTO) and Provincial Assessor's Office (PASSO).
The province ranked third for Highest Locally Sourced Revenues and second in the Year on Year (YoY) Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues for Provinces in Region 7 for Fiscal Year 2024.
The province received the award after collecting P819,691,662.13 and recording YoY growth of 55.16 percent for Fiscal Year 2024.
BLGF-7 recognized Aumentado for supporting the PTO and PASSO.
The recognition of BLGF for our unwavering support for our Provincial Treasurer's Office and Provincial Assessor's Office is part of our Strategic Change Agenda. It is a testament of our united effort to achieve progress in Bohol, Aumentado said.
Aumentado noted that when he assumed as governor, he pushed for effective collection of taxes.
The governor also helped the 48 local government units in the province improve their tax collection by providing them vehicles that were used by municipal assessors to visit the barangays.
Also during the event, the BLGF-7 and Association of Local Treasurers and Assessors-Region 7 Inc. recognized treasurers from Cebu, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Bohol who retired in 2024.
Retirees from Bohol include Maria Evelyn E. Baradas, Norman J. Visaya from Anda, Cresilda Rulida from Catigibian, and Maria Cleofe U. Nuera.
