DAGUPAN CITY – The Pangasinan Provincial Cyber Response Team, with the Community Environment and Natural Resources-Pangasinan Central Office (CENRO)-Pangasinan Central Office, arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly selling endangered sugar gliders online on June 19.
The suspect Caloy was nabbed in an entrapment operation here.
He is facing charges for violating Section 27 of Republic Act No. 9147 (Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001) in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
The sugar gliders were rescued and turned over to the CENRO-Pangasinan Central Office for proper care.

Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang, chief of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, commended lawmen for the successful operation.
The online selling of wild animals is strictly regulated by law. Sellers who disregard this may face serious penalties. We urge the public to report any similar illegal activities to the nearest ACG office for immediate action,” he said.
