Authorities identified the suspect as “Dodi,” 38. He was arrested during an operation conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Team–Rizal (PIT‑Rizal) Regional Intelligence Unit 4A (RIU4A) of Calabarzon, in Barangay Dolores, Taytay on Tuesday, June 27.
The suspect is facing a murder charge based on a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 71 in Antipolo City on January 27, 2014. No bail was recommended.
Based on the investigation, the suspect allegedly shot his neighbor to death due to a personal grudge. However, Dodi denied the accusation.
He said he did not even know the victim and only heard about the incident afterward. He believes he is being wrongly identified as the suspect.
Police records show that the suspect has been arrested several times. He was arrested in February for alarm and scandal, and in 2021 for qualified theft, where he also claimed that he was framed by people connected to his boss.
The suspect is currently detained at the Taytay Custodial Facility.
