A female motorcycle rider died and three others were injured in an accident on C-5 Road in front of the Korean Embassy in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig on June 18.
According to the Southern Police District, the traffic accident occurred at about 4:08 p.m. involving a trailer truck and three motorcycles.
Based on the report, the Taguig police’s Vehicular Traffic Investigation Unit (VTIU) in Tenement received a call requesting for the dispatch of a traffic investigator to the area.
Initial investigation showed that the trailer truck and the three motorcycles were travelling southbound when the accident happened at the corner of C-5 Road and Upper McKinley Hill.
The truck allegedly experienced brake malfunction, causing it to veer right and hit two motorcycles.
The 25-year-old female motorcycle rider and the backrider were dragged and pinned by the truck. The rider died while the backrider was injured and was rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City for treatment.
The riders of two other motorcycles–a 50-year-old male and a 38-year-old male–sustained minor injuries.
The trailer truck was brought to the Taguig Traffic Management Office impounding area.
