The Cignal HD Spikers are determined to bolster their roster for the next Premier Volleyball League Conference by officially signing their two new draftees and an undrafted libero, and extending the contract of their rookies.
Former UAAP standouts Erin Pangilinan and Jess Ordiales officially inked their contracts with the teams after being selected sixth and 18th during the Rookie Draft last week.
With the development, the former National University and De La Salle players are set to join the squad for the upcoming PVL On Tour beginning in Ilocos this Sunday, June 22.
Also joining the HD Spikers is libero Pearl Denura, another standout from NU, after going undrafted in the last Rookie Draft.
Opposite hitter Ishie Lalongisip also signed a long-term extension with the HD Spikers after proving her worth in the 2024-25 All-Filipino that concluded last April by winning the Rookie of the Conference plum.
Cignal HD Spikers coach Shaq Delos Santos is excited for what the future holds for the squad as they hope to erase the stigma of their ninth place finish last conference.
Masaya and excited ako sa team namin ngayon kahit may Alas Pilipinas duties sina Vanie (Gandler) and Dawn (Catindig),” said Delos Santos.
“Good time to try out itong mga bata and new draftees namin sa PVL On Tour, and we're confident to say na we want them to be here long-term and hopefully maging part ng aming long-coveted championship. Sana makuha namin eventually,” he added.
Cignal is bracketed in Group B together with Creamline, Akari, Chery, Capital1, and Galeries. Their first game is against the Akari Chargers this June 22 at 4 p.m.
