'Bring him home!': Bong Go insists as he commemorates Duterte's 100th Day at the Hague

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reiterated on Thursday, June 19 his call for the return of former president Rodrigo Duterte back to the Philippines noting it has been 100th day since his arrest and detention at the Hague in the Netherlands.
“Hindi tayo titigil sa panawagan natin (We will not stop in our call): Bring him home! Sabi nga ni Tatay Digong (as our former president said), he is a Filipino. And he loves the Philippines because it is the land of his birth, it is the home of his people,” Go said in a statement.
Go said he and the rest of the supporters of the 80-year old former president will continue to pray and hope that he will be able to return to the country.
“Patuloy tayong nananalangin at umaasa na makauwi na sya sa ating bansa para muling makapiling ang mga Pilipino na minamahal at pinagsisilbihan nya nang lubusan (We continue to pray and hope that he will return to our country so that he can be with the Filipinos he loved and served so fully),” the senator said.
“Gaya ng sinabi ko noon, ginawa ni dating Pangulong Duterte ang trabaho niya para sa kabutihan ng bansa at ng ating mga anak (As I said before, former President Duterte did his job for the good of the country and our children),” he said.
“Ang mga kababayan lamang natin ang dapat humusga kung naging maayos at epektibo ba ang kampanya laban sa iligal na droga. Sila ang mas nakakaalam kung ligtas sila noon na nakakauwi sa kanilang pamilya na hindi nasasaktan at kung hindi nababastos ang kanilang mga anak ng mga adik at ibang kriminal, lalo na sa gabi (Only our countrymen should judge whether the campaign against illegal drugs was effective and efficient. They know best whether they were safe, able to return home to their families unharmed, and whether their children were not molested by addicts and other criminals, especially at night),” added the former presidential assistant.
“Matanda na si Tatay Digong, 80 years old na sya. Kultura natin na inaalagaan ang mga matatanda, ginagalang at hindi pinapabayaan. Mas nais na lang nyang manilbihan sa Davao City (Father Digong is old, he is 80 years old. It is our culture to take care of the elderly, respect them and not neglect them. He would rather serve in Davao City),” he pointed out.
Duterte was arrested by operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Interpol last March 11, 2025 under an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant over charges of crimes against humanity in relation to his administration’s brutal war against drugs.
Now detained at the Hague, Duterte’s camp is requesting his interim release to an undisclosed country.
