Village dad in Abra shot dead

BANGUED, Abra – A barangay kagawad or councilor was gunned down in Barangay Dalimag, San Isidro, Abra on Wednesday morning, June 18.
Police Captain John L. Macli-ing, San Isidro chief of police, identified the victim as Ronald Javier, kagawad of Barangay Pantoc, San Isidro.
Initial investigation said Javier was fetching a passenger when a man appeared and shot him.
The suspect fled and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Recovered from the crime scene three empty caliber .45 shells.
Love triangle is eyed as motive. Follow-up investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, police are conducting follow-up investigation on the murder of barangay kagawad Calixto Neson, 64, of Barangay Ba-i, Lagayan, Abra.
The victim was found lying on the provincial road in Barangay Silet, San Juan, Abra on June 8 with bullet wounds.
