Suzuki Philippines marked its 50th anniversary with a weekend celebration at the SM Mall of Asia. On June 14 and 15, the brand held the Suzuki Matsuri (festival) 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia Activity Center. Designed as a family-oriented Japanese festival, the event welcomed thousands of visitors into a Suzuki Village, which was divided into three themed zones: Adventure, Sport, and Urban. Each area showcased motorcycles, cars, and marine products suited to a specific lifestyle. Among the highlights were the Jimny 5-door, the XL7 Hybrid, the Raider R150 FI, Hayabusa, Stealth 250 outboards, and a Polyboat fitted with a DF2.5 engine.
Part of the exhibit was the much-awaited Suzuki Fronx, a new subcompact crossover making its Philippine public debut. It represents a fresh addition to Suzuki’s local automobile lineup we can expect soon.
The Suzuki Fronx is a mini crossover that can go against the likes of the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet. It features high LED daytime running lights with its headlights mounted on the bumper. The rear gets an LED light bar with reflectors mounted on its lower corners. Black body cladding runs around the wheel wells and along the bottom of the vehicle. Like current Suzuki’s it’s also available in a two-tone color scheme.
Powering the Fronx is a 1.5-liter engine paired to either an automatic or manual. Like Suzuki’s recent models, the Dzire, Ertiga, and XL7, IT comes with a mild hybrid system to further improve its fuel economy. The built-in battery can provide the ICE engine an assist while driving, or power the car’s accessories when the engine is turned off while idling.
Naturally, the car will also have connected in-car entertainment. It comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. It may even have advanced features like a 360-degree vehicle camera.
More details about the Fronx, like complete specs and price, will be revealed at a later date.
