Six-year-old girl raped, killed in Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a 50-year-old laborer in Barangay Cansiboy, Burauen, Leyte on Tuesday, June 17.
The victim’s grandmother, a barangay tanod, returned from duty at around 9 p.m. to find her missing.
A search party was formed and the victim was located in an abandoned house.
The victim was taken to the Burauen District Hospital where she was declared dead.
The victim’s deaf-mute auntie told police conducting follow-up investigation through sign language that she saw the suspect take the child to an abandoned house.
The suspect was apprehended and led police to the house. He denied the allegation.
