ZAMBOANGA CITY – A member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit was gunned down in Tungawan town, Zamboanga Sibugay province on Tuesday, June 17.
A militiaman was shot dead in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay on June 17.
Police identified the victim as Arbi Abdukahal.
Investigation said the victim’s sister-in-law heard several gunshots outside their house.
She went out to check and saw Abdukahal’s body sprawled on the ground
Police said the victim was shot by two suspects.
The victim was assigned to the 106th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army in Zamboanga Sibugay.
In Zamboanga City, a militiaman shot a laborer in a construction site in Sitio San Ramon in what was believed to be a case of mistaken identity on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old victim, Rogelie Baligi, was playing a card game when he was shot by Roderick Sarao, a member of the 10th SCAA Provisional Delta Company.
Salle surrendered his firearm to management and said he shot a thief using his service firearm, an M16 rifle. Authorities recovered 16 empty shells from an M16 rifle at the crime scene.
Police are conducting follow-up investigations on the two cases.
