Far Eastern University appointed Mike Reyes as its new basketball program director, the school announced Tuesday, June 17.
Reyes, whose brother is seasoned TNT head coach Chot, is replacing Denok Miranda for the said position of supervising FEU’s high school and collegiate basketball.
He was also assigned at the helm of the school’s Boys U19 and U16 squads, while also working with men’s chief tactician Sean Chambers with the goal of improving the status of student-athletes from all levels.
“Far Eastern University is pleased to welcome Coach Mike Reyes as the new program head of FEU basketball…,” FEU wrote on its social media post.
We thank former program head Denok Miranda for the work he has done with FEU basketball the past years and wish him the best,” it added.
Before his stint in FEU, Reyes already had a good resume with a CESAFI title while at the helm of the Southwestern University Cobras in 2019.
Reyes, who had a brief Cebu Classic stint in MPBL, won his first CESAFI crown in 2012, and during that time served as an assistant coach for the University of San Carlos which lasted for eight years.
Miranda, who guided FEU’s high school and college squads for the past three years, will turn his focus to his other job as part of the coaching staff of the Abra Weavers in MPBL.
