JMC has officially launched its two new electric vehicle offerings in the Philippines, the EV2 and EV3, positioning the brand within the growing landscape of accessible EV mobility in the country. These two vehicles are manufactured by Jiangling Motors Electric Vehicle (JMEV), a subsidiary of Jiangling Motors Corporation Group (JMCG). Established in 2015, JMEV is one of China's prominent electric vehicle manufacturers, focusing on affordable, city-oriented EVs tailored for both domestic and international markets.
The EV2, also known as the JMEV Xiaoqilin in global markets, is a compact electric sedan designed for urban use. It is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 26-kW (approximately 35-PS) and 84-Nm of torque, allowing for a modest top speed of 105 km/h. Its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery has a capacity of 15.86-kWh and supports a range of up to 201-kilometers under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). Key exterior features include 14-inch aluminum alloy blade wheels and a full glass tailgate designed to improve rear visibility.
Inside, the EV2 is equipped with a 9-inch central touchscreen and offers a 105-liter rear luggage compartment. Safety features include a high-strength body structure with front anti-collision beams, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), an automatic locking system, hill start assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It is offered in three color variants: Dynamic Green, Aurora White, and Future Cyan.
Building on the EV2’s foundation, the EV3 presents a more premium compact hatchback package. Known in some markets simply as the JMEV EV3, this variant is powered by a 50-kW (approximately 68-PS) motor delivering 125-Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 115 km/h. Its larger 31.15-kWh battery gives it a significantly extended range of up to 330-kilometers (CLTC). The EV3 is slightly larger overall, with a trunk capacity rated at 177-liters.
Feature enhancements in the EV3 include a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, dynamic lighting elements in the front grille, and keyless start entry. Passenger comfort benefits from a wider cabin, while safety is bolstered with the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, seat belt reminders, and structural reinforcements using 1,500 MPa thermal-formed steel in the front beams. It is available in four colors: Dynamic Green, Aurora White, Cherry Blossom Pink, and Future Cyan.
The EV2 retails at ₱668,000, while the more feature-rich EV3 is priced at ₱788,000.
