Dubbed Kasalang Bayan 2025: Manila June Bride, the event was held as part of the city's lead-up celebrations to the 454th Araw ng Maynila.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, who personally served as principal sponsor, officiated the civil weddings of 65 couples during a ceremony at the Adamson University Gymnasium, while 28 other couples were wed in a ceremony at the St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Ermita.
Lacuna said the mass wedding was composed of couples, many of whom had been living together for years but could not afford a formal wedding.
According to Manila Civil Registry Office Chief Encar Ocampo, the mayor once again made sure that all essential wedding needs were covered, including marriage licenses, wedding veils and cords, flower bouquets, arras (wedding coins), and wedding rings.
On the mayor’s directive, the church service, venue, civil rites, and reception were also provided free of charge.
The wedding reception was held at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, where newlyweds celebrated with their families and friends.
