The national government has repatriated 20 Filipinos, along with 23 children, after they were stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing air strikes duel between Israel and Iran, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan welcomed the OFWs upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday morning, June 17.
Cacdac said the Filipinos and their children were supposed to go to Jordan but the conflict resulted in some major airports in the Middle East being shut down.
As a result, the 20 Filipinos and their children were stranded in Dubai.
Cacdac said they worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs of the repatriation of the Filipinos.
