Over 100 foreigners nabbed for scam, illegal online gambling sent back to China
Authorities deported around 100 foreigners back to China following their arrest after the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) was banned in the country late last year.
The Chinese were arrested in various police operations against scams and illegal offshore gaming activities in Cebu, Cavite and Pasay City since last year.
The Chinese boarded Philippine Airline Flight PR336 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 departed at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, for Shanghai, China.
“The deportation of foreigners is in accordance with the directive of the Marcos administration to completely curb the illegal operations of foreign nationals in the country, the Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission said in a statement.
