Mega Ball 2025 unites dance and fashion in celebration of Filipino excellence
By John Legaspi
Since 2010, Mega Magazine, one of the leading style glossies in the Philippines, has shone a spotlight on Filipino talents and creatives from various fields and the country’s rich cultural heritage through the Mega Ball. For its 15th edition, the annual gala centered its theme on the tango between dance and fashion. Held on Independence Day, June 12, 2025, at the Marquis Events Place in Taguig City, the Mega Ball: Fashion + Dance was a grand celebration that went beyond choreographed movements and steps—it honored the ripples Filipinos have made both locally and globally.

“The gala has become a cornerstone of the industry. Keeping the legacy of this event has been our deep commitment,” said Peewee Isidro-Reyes, editor-in-chief of Mega Magazine. “This year, we turn our focus on dance, an art form that embodies the very essence of movement and creativity. Dance, in its vast array of forms, draws inspiration from fashion, just as fashion is influenced by the grace and dynamism of dance. We celebrate this beautiful union tonight.”

For the night’s fare, Chef Rhea Rizzo crafted a tasting menu inspired by a wide spectrum of dance genres—from classical and contemporary to hip-hop, lyrical, and jazz. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of this year’s Pinoy Pride Awardees. Receiving trophies designed by Neil Felipp were actress and style icon Heart Evangelista (fashion and social media), actress Dolly de Leon (entertainment), Dr. Vicki Belo (beauty), social media personality Niana Guerrero (dance), celebrity choreographer Georcelle Dapat-Sy (dance), news anchor Karen Davila (journalism), Miss Possibilities founder Suzy Yuzon (advocacy), group head of Corporate Strategy for Grab Philippines Grace Vera Cruz (business), and National Artists for Dance Agnes Locsin and Alice Reyes.
Ending the evening’s program and kicking off the party was the gala’s co-chair, Georcelle, who fired up the dance floor with her group, G-Force. To the rhythm of classic OPM hits, attendees rose from their seats, clapping and grooving along as the energy in the room surged.
