PHIVOLCS
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that a magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck off Lingig, Surigao del Sur at 4:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.
The epicenter was located 49 kilometers northeast of Lingig, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The tremor was felt at Intensity IV (moderately strong) in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro and Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
Intensity III (weak) shaking was recorded in Kalilangan, Bukidnon, while Intensity II (slightly felt) was reported in Tandag, Surigao del Sur.
It was registered at Intensity I (scarcely perceptible) in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte; Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental; Malungon, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato; San Francisco, Leyte; and Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
Phivolcs also urged the public to remain vigilant due to the possibility of aftershocks.
