A sudden downpour and strong winds toppled an electric post in Barangay 168, Deparo, North Caloocan City, on Monday, June 16, prompting authorities to advise motorists to take alternate routes as clearing operations began.

In an interview with Manila Bulletin, Joboy Del Rosario Zuñiga, an executive officer of Barangay 168, said the incident occurred after intense wind gusts and heavy rain hit the area.
“Wala namang nasaktan, pero grabe ang perwisyo nito, kasi daanan po ‘yan pa-Valenzuela, Bulacan, vice versa papunta North Caloocan at Quezon City (No one was hurt, but the incident caused major inconvenience, as the road is a key route for motorists going to and from Valenzuela, Bulacan, North Caloocan, and Quezon City),” Zuñiga said,

As of this writing, authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause of the collapse.
Personnel from the city government's Public Safety and Traffic Management Office (PSTMO) and barangay officials arrived in the area to secure and restore traffic and electrical service.
No injuries were reported.
