The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the opening of classes for School Year 2025–2026 was generally peaceful and orderly on Monday, June 16.
QCPD Deputy District Director for Administration and Officer-in-Charge Police Col. Randy Glenn Silvio attributed the smooth school opening to early preparations, adequate personnel deployment, and coordination with school officials and local communities.
A total of 628 police officers were deployed to 234 schools across the city under the “Ligtas Balik-Eskwela” program, ensuring the safety of students and maintaining order around school premises.
The QCPD also set up 75 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in coordination with schools and volunteer groups.
The PADs were positioned within school campuses to provide security, manage traffic, and assist the public.
Silvio assured that the QCPD will continue its presence in schools throughout the academic year to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
The successful and orderly opening of classes this year is the result of early preparation, adequate deployment of our personnel, and strong coordination with schools and communities. Through our personnel assigned to schools, QCPD ensures the safety of students and the orderliness of the school environment. We will continue to maintain our presence to ensure a safe and productive year for our youth),” Silvio said.
He added that the peaceful school opening reflects the district’s commitment to the Philippine National Police’s reform programs and public service initiatives.
