“Thank God that everything is normal and no untoward incident,” stressed Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer.
Police remain on alert to prevent crimes, Ometer assured.
The PRO-13 established Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in strategic areas in the region to respond to the needs of students, teachers, and parents.
“The safety of our students is our utmost priority, and we want to make sure parents keep their children safe at school,” Ometer said.
PRO-13 has implemented a 5-minute response time to any crime. The rule mandates police officers respond to calls for help within five minutes, counted from the moment they receive a call for assistance.
The PRO-13 mobilized 1,167 police officers and force multipliers to ensure security in schools.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano urged people to report suspicious activities in schools to the police. “Your PNP will be able to respond immediately and ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel,” he assured.
PRO-13 will intensify police visibility in schools to prevent crimes. “This is one of the effective ways to safeguard students and teachers from any untoward incidents and crimes,” Abrahano said.
