The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized the city government of Paranaque with a certificate of recognition for its commitment towards good local governance and for passing seven out of 10 governance indicators under the Seal of Good Local Governance.
Based on the Certificate of Recognition awarded to Paranaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez by DILG-Paranaque Director, Alona Raymundo, the city government has been dedicated to working on disaster preparedness, health compliance and responsiveness, sustainable education, business-friendliness and competitiveness, safety and peace and order, environmental management and tourism, heritage development, culture and the arts.
Aside from the certificate of recognition received by the city government, four barangays in the city were awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLB) by the DILG.
Olivarez assisted Raymundo in the awarding of recognition to Barangays Don Galo, San Isidro, San Antonio, and Marcelo Green.
He said the SGLB is given to barangays by the DILG in recognition of their outstanding performance for passing disaster preparedness, peace and order, financial administration, and social protection.
The mayor also said the SGLB intends to encourage barangays to continuously progress in delivering equitable and quality public services.
