BACOLOD CITY – A 38-year-old driver wanted for three counts of estafa in Quezon, Bukidnon, was arrested by police in Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, June 14, three days after he came home to his wife’s province.
The suspect, a resident of Bulacan, was served with an arrest warrant for estafa in relation to Republic Act 10175 or Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, issued by a Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 45 in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on Nov. 24, 2022.
The court set a bail of P10,000, P28,000, and P30,000 for each count, respectively, for his temporary liberty, according to the police.
Police Capt. Sammy Gasataya, deputy chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said that according to the suspect, the case stemmed from a misunderstanding on his unsettled debt with his aunt.
The suspect was tagged by police as the third most wanted person in the municipality of Quezon.
Gasataya said that the suspect is set to post a bail on Monday, June 16, and will travel back to Quezon town to face the charges.
